Are you ready to meet our July 2012 Guest Design Team member? Welcome to Lady Grace (LG) Belarmino! We are so lucky to have her with us this month. LG's work is beautiful! She is known for her handcutting, her details and her sweet feminine pages featuring her darling daughter. Just wait until you see what she did with Webster's Pages this month.
Here
Here is what LG had to say about herself:
I am a scrapper from the Philippines with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, Majoring in Advertising Design. I am married to my very supportive husband, Regie Belarmino, for 5 years now and a mother to a 4 year old baby girl, Hannah, my precious model. I started scrapbooking in December 2008 a few months after I gave birth to my daughter. I decided to enter into scrapbooking to preserve my family's memories and to express my creative side.
My style differs from one layout to the other depending on the source of inspiration. Sometimes my inspiration comes from the photo, sometimes the patterned papers, my mood and also how I feel. I love experimenting and trying out new techniques as I create a page. I am into handcutting, distressing, misting, photo editing and layering. My pages are a range of simple to complicated I might say, but I always make sure that the photo is always the focal point of my layout.
We sent LG the Girl Land and Everyday Poetry lines and here are her beautiful creations!
I adore the Girl Land collection. I love the softness of the colors, the intricate details of the flowers and the doily design at the back of the Carefree patterned paper. And the best part is, it was the perfect collection to use for my daughter’s flower girl event held in Bali because the wedding color theme was pink and yellow. What a coincidence, right?
Here my final design was inspired specifically by the “Your Beauty“ patterned paper. I love how the big flower and all the other elements placed on one side, the idea came instantly.
The Everyday Poetry is very pretty especially with those bird cages. Here I wanted to keep my design simple, following the triangle outline to draw the viewer to the cute photo of my daughter with my nephew. By simply layering and clustering handcut patterns on one side, I was able to achieve the 3D look that I wanted with the flowers, butterflies and cages.
My 3rd layout is a combination of both collection that I received, Girl Land and Everyday Poetry. This time around, I decided to make a playful design because my inspiration came from the photos. I have made my own background design using mists, stamps, and masking. I love the idea that both collections can be combined but still look cohesive.
Aren't they amazing!!! I'm so inspired!!
As always, the DT had the priviedge of lifting some of LG's pages. I had so much fun perusing her gallery and settled on these beautiful pages...
And here are the pages we came up with:
Julie: I was really inspired by Lady Grace's design on Home+you and that is what I focused on, thanks for the great inspiration LG!!
Tomoko: I have been a big fan of LG's work for a long time now. I had the chance to lift LG's layout "Cute, Cute". I love how she places her photos and paper which is so stylish! I also love how she used negative spaces. (which I am not good with... lol) Thank you so much for the inspiration LG!
Emma: LG, congratulations on being this months guest designer!! I love your work so much.
I decided to take inspiration from all three sample layouts, starting with the journaling block and cluster from the 'Home' layout, colours from 'Cute' and the numbers from 'Love You'. A bit of blending together and along came my layout...thank you for the inspiration LG!
Anabelle: I have loved LG's work for a long time now. Her attention to detail and use of white space is beautiful. I chose to lift her Cute page. I also did some white misting like she did on her Home page. Thanks for the great inspiration, LG!
Larissa: I chose to scraplift Lade Grace´s 'Cute' layout. Inspired by her gorgeous design, the size of her photos and awesome little squares, I have created a page to portray one adorable pic of my daughter using the colorful Girl Land collection by Webster´s Pages. Thanks for the inspiration, Lady Grace!
Jaz: I love how LG does the square patchwork on her layout. I used a hexagon patchwork on my layout, and added the little banner too. Such pretty details. I have been inspired.Thank you LG for your lovely inspo ;)
Gabi: Lady Grace has a beautiful style and I was inspired by design elements in two of her layouts. I liked the horizontal line design of her 'Cute Cute' page and I loved the way she used the heart elements in her 'Love You' page. Congrats on being our guest designer this month Lady Grace! Xx
Emeline: I chose to scrap lift LG's "Love You" layout and was inspired by her mix of hearts, alphabets, mist and all her wonderful blend of elements. I admired LG's scrap style and just love her work ! Thank you again, LG for inspiring all of us here!
Kay: I am IN LOVE with the work of LG, but wanted to add my CAS spin to the layout. I was inspired by the accents at the top, as well as the scalloped border at the bottom and right side of the picture. I also love the banner on the left side of the photo. Thanks for the inspiration, LG!
Gerry: LG`s work is adorable and so beautiful. I was inspired by her "Love You" layout which completely grabbed me with the beautiful details, interesting background and all the gorgeous hearts! Thank you so much, LG, for the inspiration!
Nina: I´ve lifted the "love you" layout from Grace. I love the heart banner and the simple title so much.
Thank you Grace for that gorgeous inspiration. I´m a huge fan of your work!
