Well, we took the month of January to welcome our new team members and focus on our CHA releases. But, now, we are back to our regular monthly features!
We are so lucky and excited to have a fabulous Guest Designer with us this month. Welcome, Leslie Ashe!! Leslie is a talented designer who has been published countless times and creates amazing projects. Her bright, fun, bold style works perfectly with Webster’s products. We are thrilled that she was able to create some lovely pages and cards for us this month!
Here is what Leslie had to say about herself:
Hi, I’m Leslie Ashe. I’m a born and bred Texan who fell in love with & married my California boy (Alan) 21.5 years ago. (who, by the way, moved to Texas. for ME.!!)
We have 2 amazing children (Savannah & Shaypher) who are the lights of our lives. They’re both off at college, so our nest is a bit empty...but fills up quickly when they’re home for holidays & weekends!
Scrapbooking began for me over 16 years ago & I haven’t looked back since. Creating is my outlet. Hardly a day goes by when I’m not in my little studio creating away.
When I’m not creating, you can find me curled up with a good book, with my family or out snapping all the memories I can get in a day.
I’ve been blessed beyond belief to have some of my works published in Scrapbook Trends, Simply Handmade, Cards, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks ETC., along with several idea books.
It’s quite a dream come true for me to be a guest for Webster’s Pages! I’ve always ALWAYS been a HUGE fan.
Leslie worked with the Western Romance and Sunday Picnic lines. Just check these out! I can’t decide which one I love the most…
I made this little card while I was thinking of a sweet friend who just needs a little bit of cheering up. I thought this tiny (4x4”) would brighten her day and spirits! Especially using this gorgeous Websters Pages line! Western Romance isn’t just for your “love bug” but for anyone!
Now this one, using Western Romance is TOTALLY for my “love bug”. (my sweet daughter!) I want her to know how proud I am of her & what a perfect way using delicious flower trim & bling.
I can’t even say enough of how fabulous I think the Western Romance line is. Sums up my love for my sweet niece, Presley perfectly! The soft colors mixed with the bright yellow totally spoke to me. LOVE this line!
When I saw the fabric ticket that says “just love” before I even started creating, I KNEW it would be perfect for giving my sweet girl some advice on life. Just a little advice...to live free, laugh lots & just love. I love that sweet face & these gorgeous colors compliment her so well!
I about DIED when I saw the beautiful bright colors in this new line! Totally up my alley. I am a sucker for some bright color. Not to mention little note cards with the perfect words on them! What a great way to send a quick card. SO easy to create. And that trim...WOW!
My all time favorite color is pink. My all time favorite color to scrap with is pink. What’s better than pink with gorgeous turquoise & white flowers? Mix that with a little black & white photo & more pops of bright colors...wah-lah! you have the perfect layout.
Another easy creation – I trimmed this one down to 8.5x11 (I’m usually a 12x12 only girl. But will scrap this size on occasion – to challenge myself) & used a border punch along the side. Another fun thing I did was I folded over one of the fabric ticket tags. I LOVE how it turned out!
Die Cut papers SCREAM “USE ME, USE ME!” (to me?!) I had the best time backing this one with a tiny bit of hot pink trim, cutting around it and adhering to the left side of my page about my new “family member”. PERFECT line to introduce you to my new baby.
How perfect are these journaling cards! They were PERFECT for what I wanted to say about me and my girl. She’s exactly half of me. Not by looks – she totally got her daddy’s great looks but by age. Another fun creation with this new Sunday Picnic line.
As you know, our design team has the pleasure of lifting one of the Guest Designer’s pages. The following projects are the ones we chose from.
And check out how our design team interpreted her work:
Kay: Leslie’s strips were the design element that inspired Kay. She layered several of them underneath her photos just as Leslie did in her heartthrob layout.
Anabelle: I was totally inspired by Leslie’s use of strips of papers and her punched borders. I love Leslie’s work and had so much fun creating in her style!
Diana: I love Leslie’s use of layers and hearts in her Heart Throb layout. It inspired me to create this layout based on love, layers, and hearts.
Nina: Leslie’s layout “Heart Throb” inspired me to use these little banners and adding the pictures into the right space.
Julie: I loved Leslie's use of strips, ribbons and lots of layers and that’s what inspired my layout. Thanks Leslie!
Emma: I couldn’t decide which layout design I liked the best, so I decided to create a layout using both designs. I like the way Leslie uses strips of paper and layered elements in her work and I used this as influence for my page (using Sunday Picnic papers). Thank you for the inspiration Leslie and congratulations on being this months Guest Designer.
Stacey: I was so inspired by Leslie’s amazing layers and the freedom she displays when scrapping! She inspired me to let go and use the curve of the rainbow as well as to create some whimsy with repeating elements like the clouds. Thanks for the sharing inspiration with all of us!
Jaz: I like how Leslie use strips of papers as the background in her layout "Heart Throb". The way she placed the title on the right top corner is just lovely. Thank you, Leslie, for the wonderful inspiration! ;)
Gerry: Leslie’s style is so beautiful and full of inspiration. The way she uses ribbon, paper strips, adding gorgeous embellishments as hearts inspired me to create my layout. Thank you Leslie for the inspiration!
Larissa: I was inspired by Leslie’s use of strips of paper and layers to create this layout. I also love the journaling tag she added to her layout “Heart Throb” which inspired me to incorporate that word to my layout , “Happiness Registered”. Congrats on the GDT!
Emeline: Leslie has a way with mixing cardstocks and pattern papers! She works brilliantly with graphic prints and linear lines. Great to have you inspire us this month, Leslie!
Mitsue: I loved how Leslie used strip of papers and banners for layering the layout. Thanks for the inspiration!
Jill: I was inspired by Leslie’s layering, use of punches and banners! I just adore her work!
We can’t thank you enough, Leslie, for sharing your talent with us this month! You’re such an inspiration.

Trudi's layout is an absolute stunner. I love the hand-cut bird cages, the clever use of white space and the clusters of elements that make this layout classically Webster's Pages.
