We are beyond excited!! This month we have the amazing Jen Jockisch as our Guest Designer! Jen has such a unique and beautiful style. Jen is the Queen of Layering. Looking at her pages, you constantly find new little bits and details peeking out from behind photos or from under paper layers. Just wait until you see what she did with Webster’s products!
Here is what Jen had to say about herself:
Jen has been scrapbooking for 7 years and has been fortunate to have been published in numerous publications, including Creating Keepsakes, BHG Scrapbooks Etc., Scrapbook and Cards Today and Scrapbook Trends, among others. She is a former member of the 2010 Creating Keepsakes Dream Team and currently designs for Two Peas in a Bucket as a Garden Girl and Studio Calico. You can read more about Jen on her blog.
Jen created several projects with Webster's Palm Beach and Game On lines. Check out these beautiful creations….
Here's what Jen had to say about her projects…
Playing Outside: I was really inspired by the Cheer Em' On paper from the Game On collection. I cut up all the little playing cards and then adhered them with foam adhesive at different depths to add tons of dimension. I really love this line and had a lot of fun making it work for my girly page.
Dip Your Toes: The Palm Beach line is AMAZING and so up my alley. I started with the yellow chevron and cut and layered it and then added some elements I'd hand cut from more Palm Beach papers. I really love that pink paper I used for my background, i know I'll use that over and over!
Summer Tradition: More chevron! I just can't resist them, especially in this large size and the gorgeous colors! More layering with some hand cut elements and the fun fabric ticketed that come with the collection.
Aren’t they amazing???? Are you drooling yet? Don’t you want to dig into Game On and Palm Beach now? I know that I do.
We had a wonderful time lifting Jen’s pages. Each DT member chose to emulate Jen’s style in their own unique way.
Here are the layouts we used as inspiration:
Here is what we came up with:
Julie: I LOVED lifting Jen....lots and lots of layers, little things poking out....ahhh pure freedom...thanks for the inspiration Jen!
Nina: I love the way Jen used the layers on her layout. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Iris: I love how carefree Jen’s pages are. The design is fresh and clean. Embellishments are layered but never cluttered. I tried to achieve that look while still staying true to my style in this page. The Game On tags went perfectly with the design I had in mind. Thank you for the inspiration Jen!
Anabelle: I love how Jen layers her papers and adds lots of fun bits and baubles. This page uses a lot of those techniques. I also love how she incorporates the negative space from cutouts onto her pages. I chose to lift her “Meltdown” because it had so many fun elements. Using Girl Land on this boy page was really easy to do. I chose papers with solids, stripes, diamonds and tone on tone patterns. The sparklers were clear, but to make them match I colored them green with a Copic marker.
Diana: I was inspired by Jen’s Meltdown layout. I liked the fact that she documented her daughter’s meltdown so I thought it would be fun to document my daughter’s current hissy fit stage. I was also inspired by her tag clusters and decided to use this as the starting off point of my layout. Thank you so much for the inspiration Jen! I absolutely adore your work!
Stacey: I was super inspired by how Jen uses overlapping layers...I wouldn’t have tucked all the word phrases or even the fabric under elements without her inspiration!
Jaz: I am so loving chevron print nowadays and I like how Jen is using the chevron design on her layout "best gift ever". By dressing up just the top and bottom of the page with chevron prints, and some white space in the centre while eyes are being drawn to the photo. I like that ;) Thank you Jen for your lovely inspiration.
Gerry: I just love Jen’s work. To create my layout I was inspired by her “Love You” page! Her banners, layers and design are simply awesome! Thank you, Jen, for the inspiration
Emma:Jen is one of my scrappy heros! I adore her work so it was a real pleasure to lift her work. Congratulations on GDT Jen and thank you so much for the inspiration.
