Wait until you see the beautiful projects our December Guest Designer, Natalie May, created for us this month! Natalie is a classically, elegant scrapper. Her gorgeous designs are clean, yet filled with texture and just the right details. You are going to be so inspired by her lovely work!
Here’s what Natalie had to say about herself:
My name is Natalie May. I am a 36 year old mum to a gorgeous 8 year old daughter, Jessica and a wife to a very supportive hubby. I am a full time paper crafter, working in Adelaide's best Scrapbooking shop, Seriously Scrapbooking, teaching around 10 classes a month and designing chipboard for Imaginarium Designs,
I have been a card maker for about 15 years and discovered Scrapbooking late 2006. It’s such a brilliant creative outlet, with no restrictions as to what you can do and VERY addictive! {but hey ... you already knew that!} I don’t believe have a particular style - I let the paper guide me ... I love to experiment and try new things ... and I create what my students are asking for too! My theory is…. “ If it looks good – Stick it down!”
I love working off sketches and I am heavily influenced by all the talent in this industry.I love using a variety of techniques on my pages from dry and wet embossing, Glimmermist, inking and more recently I have become addicted to my Cuttlebug again. I like to experiment with Gesso and Texture Paste and I have a very soft spot for chipboard.
I have been published in all 3 Australian Scrapbooking magazines and have recently been part of the Scrapware Design team as well as a couple of online DTs and currently I am on the Design Team for Imaginarium Designs Chiboard.
I have recently taught at a couple of Australian fairs and in the next 12months, have a couple of retreats and conventions coming up that I cant wait to teach at! I love this industry … the opportunity to teach a new technique…. Meeting so many amazing people…..and to be able to CREATE everyday is quite a blessing.
Natalie worked with the Botanical Christmas and Winter’s Fairytale to create some magical pieces for the holidays! Just take a look at these creations:
I love her use of the Winter's Fairytale paper here. The banner along the top with that layering on the bottom looks awesome!
Here's another beauty with Winter's Fairytale. The white space really makes the colors and designs pop. And those pinwheel flowers are amazing!
This one is so pretty! Just look at that gorgeous flower cluster!!!
Here, Natalie used Botanical Christmas for a really elegant page. Look at that border around the die cut paper!
Wow! Check out the texture on this one! Isn't that background amazing? The white against the green Botanical Christmas paper makes for such great contrast.

As if all of these amazing layouts weren't enough, check out these beautiful cards. They are pure eye candy!!!
Lifting Natalies’s work was a pleasure for the DT. Here are the two layouts that we drew inspiration from:
And here is what the team did with them:
Julie: I loved Natalie’s use of a frame for her photos, it just gave such depth, thanks for the inspiration!
Jaz: I like the soft misting at the back ground, and the pretty design of this page "Remember". Had lots of fun!! Thank you Natalie for the sweet inspiration ;)
Larissa: I scraplifted Natalie May´s All Grown layout - love her design and the beautiful arrangement of her embellishments! A gorgeous layout! Thanks for the inspiration and congrats!

Stacey: I was inspired by the clean lines of Natalie's All Grown Up layout. I used a sequence of portraits photos just like she did. I also liked the way she used images on the paper as strong design elements, like the bird and the nest. That lead me to cut the balloons. Thanks for the inspiration!
Emma:I decided to lift Natalie's 'Remember' layout. I loved the design, layering and use of paint....things I use already on my pages. Congratulations on GDT this month Natalie! Your work is beautiful.

Mitsue: I love Natalie's simple & elegant scrapbook style! Congrats and thanks for the inspiration!
We are so excited to have Natalie with us this month and we know you’re going to be truly inspired by her. Be sure to check out her blog, www.happydaks.blogspot.com Believe it or not she even created MORE goodies for us to see. I can't wait to take a peek!!!
Thanks, Natalie, for sharing your talent with us! We are so glad you’re here with us this month.

Katherine Sutton's use of Modern Romance Circle Rings Stickers is truly inspired!! They are so beautifully strewn across the page and add such unity to her layout! Her background whitewash is such a great touch, too, not to mention the stitching! Just perfect!
