**Welcome August Guest Designer - Brit Sviggum**

   We are truly delighted to have the amazingly talented Brit Sviggum as our Guest Designer for August! Brit's designs are truly one of a kind. She has a unique style that always includes photos cut to create silhouettes with scenes built around them. Magical, whimsical, and delightful are all words that come to mind when I think of Brit's layouts.  She's also wonderful with the spray mists!

 

Here is what Brit has to say about herself:

   I am Brit Sviggum, and I`m from Norway.

   I live in a small town called Egersund with my great, supportive husband and my 2 children (boy and girl), Leif 5 1/2 and Tuva Ayse 2.

   Right now I`m staying at home with my children. But I will start working again after this summer. Earlier I worked in a photo/scrapbooking shop for 8 years.

    My interest for scrapbooking started on a holiday in California in 1999. I remember I bought a punch and a book with pattern papers, and felt like I was in heaven. This was really big.  We didn`t have these things were I lived. So that`s how my scrapping-life started :)

    Now I`ve been so lucky to join the great sketch-challenge blog called Skissedilla in Norway. I am one of 7 designers there, and it`s a great place to be. I am very happy to be on this team with these great and talented girls.

    I guess I have a special style on my pages. I usually cut out my photos(like a silhouette), and kind of make new environments around them. I love making my layouts almost as storybooks. My favorite products are: patternpapers(specially those with lots of things to cut out), glimmermist and sticker-alphabets. I make my pages as 12x12, and I almost never make cards. I am a scrapbooking-girl :)

   At least once a month me and four others are meeting to do some scrapbooking. I have also been a part of a team that has arranged bigger cropnights here in town.

   Besides doing this wonderful hobby, I am busy with my children, husband,family and friends.

    I also love photography, watch tv and reading different crafting-magazines.

Aren't those absolutely amazing!! Her handcutting is absolutely fabulous and I love what she did with the BLING. Her detail work is awesome.

 

This month, the DT had the pleasure of lifting Brit's work. Here are the two layouts that we drew inspiration from:

Julie: Using the new Botanical Christmas line I mimicked Brits style of using a cut out from a photo and created a scene around it. I love this style, you rock Brit!!!

 

 

Emeline: I simply adore Brit's was of documenting her pictures. Her storyboard style is not only interesting but fun and whimsical....

 

 

Jaz: Brit's silhouettes scrapbooking style is one that you should try!! Removing your subject from the background of the photo and then positioning them onto a backdrop that you want in order to tell your story is definitely whimsical and fun ;) Thank You Brit for your gorgeous inspirations ;)

 

 

Iris: I have always been a huge fan of Brit's work. Her layouts seem like pages from a children's story book. Her style is very unique and clearly shows a different level of skill. It was an honor to be able to draw inspiration from Brit's work.

 

Stacey: Brit's style is truly one of a kind! I had never cut photos like this before and it took me way out of my comfort zone! But that is the fun...I love how artsy is looks in the end! Thanks Brit for the endless inspiration!

 

 

Tomoko: I love Brit's art work very much!!! I was very inspired by how Brit cut outs her photos and combines it with embellishments to make it look like one picture. I really enjoyed making this layout! I don't usually cut out photos so it was very fun and exciting! Thank you Brit for the inspiration!!!!

 

 

Anabelle: I absolutely love Brit's fun and whimsical style. It's so different from my own! I decided to cut a silhouette from one of my photos - a first for me. Thanks, Brit, for the inspiration!

Brit´s scenarios are so creative and happy that I couldn´t help trying to create a scenario of my own to scraplift her unique style!!!
