A huge welcome to May guest designer Julie Overby. I have been fortunate to know Julie for a while now, and was so excited when she became a member of inspireME. Julie creates beautiful pages and lots of cards, and loves patterned paper as much as I do! She has shared some great ideas for cards that show her style which is a little shabby chic and a lot of fun!
Here is some information about Julie, in her own words.
"My name is Julie Overby and I’ve been scrapbooking for many, many years but I’ve just become an avid/obsessed paper crafter in the last few years. I’ve been married to the love of my life for the last 15 years and we have 3 beautiful children who are the constant source of my inspiration. I also have a passion for photography and the keyboard.
I’ve designed for several different manufacturers and my art can be found in CARDS, Scrapbook Trends, Memory Makers, Paper Crafts, and Scrapbook & Cards today. Webster’s Pages is one of my all time favorite paper lines and I’m thrilled and completely honored to be designing for them this month!"
Please join me in welcoming Julie as our guest designer, and take a look at some of the incredible projects she created for us this month. You can see more in her gallery you can also join her on her blog.
I love shaped cards, so I was excited to see this darling card:

Love how Julie used our new stickers, including the frame sticker, to a great eye catching effect on this card:

All of us on the design team are crazy for our new Bloomers and buttons, and Julie uses them beautifully here:

The colors on this are wonderful , and the the Fabric Fancy makes a perfect focal point:

Julie also created this gorgeous page which shows her shabby chic side:

This month we asked our design team to take inspiration from these beautiful pages that Julie created:

Design team member Steph Devlin took inspiration from Julie's combination of flowers cut from patterned paper and textured flowers to create a beautiful page with lots of dimension. I absolutely love how Steph combined papers from the different collections as well as one of our new Fabric Fancies and brand new Silhouette (cameo).

I love this lush, romantic page created by design team member Jaz Lee Soo Hui. Jaz created her own flowers like Julie did on the first page and used similar lines to the second page, and applied her signature whimsy and layering. I love how she incorporated one of the Fabric Fancies on this page too.

Design team member Iris Babao Uy was inspired by Julie's use of a die cut pattern (you can make these using punches and die cut machines) and created a fabulous border on her page. The main papers are from the Garden Gala line but Iris also used some other papers as well as our trim and new Bloomers.

This lovely page comes to you from design team member Karola Witczak. Notice how Karola used strips like Julie did in her pages. For her strips, Karola used some of our new stickers. She chose those from the Lullaby Lane collection to match the papers she used, and used our new buttons and Bloomers.

Design team member Anabelle O'Malley took inspiration from Julie's layering and did some gorgeous layering, incorporating one of our new die cuts, on this wonderful page about her son and her mom. Love the story behind this - he calls her "Abue" which is short for Abuela, which means grandmother. Anabelle used a larger piece of the Bloomers on this page, and I love how she also incorporated our new stickers, buttons, and cameo too.

Look at this fun page from design team member Ellen Sosnoski. Her photo placement was inspired by Julie's first page. Ellen is great at creating clean pages with super cute touches that really stand out - notice her cute tab on one of the pictures and her creative flowers made with Webster's Pages trim, fabric fancies and fabric ribbon and Bloomers - awesome!

Design team member Dena Coe loves Julie's classic style and was inspired by her stitching and layering! She combined products from the Seaside Rereat collection with a Life's Portrait 6 x 6 die cut paper and stickers, and finished it off with trim from the Garden Seaside package. Super cute!

Design team member Lucy Edson love's Julie's clean style and was really drawn to the circular elements she used. She immediately thought of the Chinese Lanterns from the Garden Gala line. Some handmade flowers from the new Fabric Ribbons went along with the outdoor garden theme perfectly. You can see how Lucy created these flowers from Webster's Pages Fabric Ribbbons HERE in a special video tutorial.

Huge thanks to Julie and our amazing design team for sharing these beautiful projects!

...after all, it is May and our inspireME Sticker Challenge is going strong! Have you seen all the beautiful entries!? Katherine Sutton's use of Modern Romance Circle Rings Stickers is truly inspired!! They are so beautifully strewn across the page and add such unity to her layout! Her background whitewash is such a great touch, too, not to mention the stitching! Just perfect!
Stop by our website and check out the Circle Rings Stickers available in both Modern Romance and New Beginnings! Also, be sure to take a look at our two new beautiful collections...Plum Seed and Citrus Squeeze by Adrienne Looman and...BE INSPIRED!
