We are so happy to have Tara Orr as our guest designer for April! Tara has added some amazing projects over the several years that she has been a member here. She has such an amazing sense of style and design and each project she creates is a labor of love. Both Brandin and I met Tara this winter at CHA. Tara was standing in the entrance, looking at Brandin (who was talking to a customer and for quite some time) and Tara whispered over to me "Is that BRANDIN??" and there she waited until she had the opporutnity to go tell Brandin how much she loved her products and the two of them hit it off instantly. Tara had such enthusiam for our new lines and her enthusiam is infectious, both in real life and in her work. It was totally cute to watch her share her love for Websters with Brandin (and Tara to don't shoot me for sharing the story!) Now if only I had a picture to share too!
Here are some more goods on Tara in her own words:
My name is Tara Orr and I started scrapping in November 2008. Instant addiction. Currently, I'm a sahm to my 3 little ones - oldest is 6 and youngest will be 3 at the end of May. They are the heart and soul of my projects. I love scrapping - LOVE it. It challenges me, it relaxes me and it lets me escape into a world of creativity that I adore. My design style has settled in the shabby chic genre with a touch of rustic and a lot of distressing. Random Facts: Have a degree in psychology, love horseback riding (although its been too long), I order a grande dark almost every day, prefer chocolate to any other sweet, am addicted to the twilight series - (team edward all the way, although Jacob has a killer body in Eclipse but I digress...), I'm the oldest of 3 siblings, gave up hope of maintaining my 'Monica from friends' (as my husband would describe) cleaning habit once I had kids of my own, have earned more grey hairs and wrinkes in the past 6 years than I could have imagined and love my family more than life itself. Thank you so much for the opportunity. Cheers!
We sent Tara our Country Estate and Ladies&Gents Collections to work with this month and they suited her PERFECTLY!! Just take a peek at what she created:
Using our Country Estate Collections-
Using our Ladies&Gents Collection-
See what I mean these lines suited her perfectly?!?! Intricate, such attention to detail and love in every nook and cranny. These are the properties that make her layouts so incredible!
We asked the Design Team to lift one Tara's following layouts and once again, they nailed it!
Here is what the Design Team came up with:
Jaz: love Tara's work. Her page "Grow" is so beautiful, love the butterflies, the swirls, flowers and working with layerings and frames ;) I did a mirror image of the sketch, had so much fun. Thank you Tara for the inspiration ;)
Julie: I chose to Lift Tara's layout "Grow" using the Wonderfall digital collection. I love how Tara uses so many layers and punched edges and of course I couldnt resist the butterflies!!
Mitsue: Tara work is amazing! I love how she used the ticket, birds and beautiful flowers! Thanks for the great inspiration!
Iris: I was inspired by Tara's beautiful way of embellishing her page with swirls and butterflies. I also love the vertical placement of her photo, making it stand above the rest of the page. I had small pictures so I just aligned 2 small photos vertically to achieve the same effect.
Emeline: I really adore Tara's shabby-chic style and am so glad I can scraplift her style all I want.
Stacey: Tara's style is so unique and beautiful...I decided to adapt it to fit my own style! The idea to cut the circular pattern was born in an effort to use fussy cutting, much like Tara does. She obviously influenced me to use butterflies on this layout. Thanks Tara for the inspiration!
Larissa: Tara has such a beautiful work! I love the way she has added layers to frame her photo and that´s what I scraplifted from her layout "Love to Watch you Grow". I also glued some butterflies to add movement and interest to my layout as she did. Thanks for all the inspiration, Tara
Gabi: I've noticed that Tara likes to use an off center vertical lines design on her pages, it's something I haven't tried so it was fun to give this design style a try. Tara has a lovely style of scrapping and her use of loads of embellishments is a fun style to emulate. Congrats Tara on being our Guest Designer this month!
Anabelle: Tara's work is so gorgeous. She fills her pages with flowers and beautiful layers. Along with her vertical design elements, I tried to emulate her work by doing a lot of handcutting and creating flower clusters around my photos.
Gerry: I was inspired by Tara`s beautiful layout "Grow". Love her layering, embellies, photo and title. Thank you, Tara, for the inspiration!
Ivana: There are so many things I love about Tara's work. The way she effortlessly layers papers...The beautiful photographs of her kids' interaction with nature...The way she adds 'life' to all of her work...I was mostly inspired by her layout 'Love to Watch You Grow' and her use of flowers, butterflies, soft colours, tons of layers, and the intriguing title. I used a photo of my nephew in this layout, documenting his first encounter with freshly cut grass. I added flowers, butterflies, tons of layers, and soft colours. Thank you so much, Tara, for all the beautiful inspiration!!!
Yes, we can all pick our chins up off the floor. Don't these layouts all make you want to run right out and buy both of these lines TODAY! They are hitting the stores right now, so keep an eye out. Please feel free to join our Design Team in paying tribute to Tara and her beautiful style. You too can lift one of her layouts and post it in the gallery. Show some love!
Thank you Tara for sharing your amazing talents with us, for being a part of the inspireME community and for not killing me for sharing your CHA story!!
And thanks to the Design Team for their knock-your-socks off lifts. I am inspired to go scrap something today and hope that YOU are too!

Trudi's layout is an absolute stunner. I love the hand-cut bird cages, the clever use of white space and the clusters of elements that make this layout classically Webster's Pages. Her tidbits of Everyday Poetry make me want to get creating right this second...you can grab this collection (and several others) over at our website. Thanks, Trudi for inspiring me today!
